Full terms & conditions for Mrs Lovett’s Bakery are detailed below. By making an initial payment it will be deemed that the terms are understood and accepted as applying to your order.
🖤ORDER PROCESS🖤
When placing an order with us please provide a mobile number and email address. Why you ask? This is so we can contact you if you miss your delivery/collection slot and forward an allergen list via email.
A short description of what you'd like to order including themes, quantity, flavours etc will help us process your order quickly and make sure we get it perfect for you!
🖤PRICES🖤
Following your enquiry, your quote will not be subject to any further price increases unless a design alteration is requested.
🖤DEPOSITS/UPFRONT PAYMENTS🖤
Due to the nature of our business we do request full payment to be made unless the date is booked well in advance or otherwise agreed by Mrs Lovett’s Bakery. For orders in advance we require a non refundable 50% deposit to secure your order date and order any personalised items requested.

🖤CASH PAYMENTS🖤
Cash payments are accepted at stalls and events for pre baked goodies.
Final payment for your cake is required no later than 3 weeks before the collection/delivery.
🖤FAILURE TO MAKE PAYMENT🖤
If payment is not recieved upon ordering we reserve the right to cancel any previous arrangements. If full payment is not received and cleared in our account before the
event then the order will not be released.
🖤CANCELLATION🖤
If an event cancellation occurs we reserve the right to retain all, or a proportion of, your initial payment, to cover any expenses already incurred.
If cancellation takes place 3 weeks before the event then we reserve the right to keep 50% of the total price, or if cancellation occurs 7 days prior then 100% of the value will be retained to cover the costs of production of the cake.
🖤REARRANGING YOUR ORDER🖤
We require a minimum of 72 hours notice before the event and will do our best to jiggle your order providing the date is suitable otherwise it shall be treated as a cancellation.
We retain the right to cancel the booking in very unusual circumstances beyond our control, such as fire, ill health or a bereavement during which we will refund any money taken in full within 28 days.
🖤DESIGN🖤
Mrs Lovett’s Bakery are fully self taught in our profession, celebration cake designs may vary based on our skill level.
By placing payment with us you accept that cakes may come with imperfections, therefore we do not accept any liability and no refund will be offered if a customer is unhappy with the design/finish of their cake.
🖤ALTERATIONS & CHANGES 🖤
It is your responsibility to read & check the quote we provide thoroughly; please make us aware of any amendments as soon as possible.
If requested, we will endeavour to adjust the design where possible, but sometimes this is not possible according to the nature of the request or amount of notice given.
If the alteration affects the cost, or preparation work for the original design has already been undertaken, then your balance will be adjusted accordingly.
Please warn us when you pay your deposit if you are undecided on the design.
Any cake ordered from a picture or photo of a cake produced by any other cake maker, can only be reproduced as our interpretation of that cake and will not be an exact reproduction of the cake in the picture or photo.
🖤WEATHER CONDITIONS🖤
We recommend extreme caution if you are considering a cake decorated with chocolate or buttercream during the summer months (May-September).
We cannot accept responsibility for any melting of the cake once it has left our possession, as we have no control over the environmental / venue temperature.
We can however advise you of designs that are less susceptible to melting and do everything
within our control to reduce the impact on the cake including offering cake care instructions.
🖤WEDDING TASTERS🖤
Sample boxes for tasting are available to order alongside your wedding cake consultation. We charge £20.00 payable in advance with a choice of 4 flavours per box. This amount will be deducted from the final cost of your cake, should you proceed to order your wedding cake with us.
🖤DIETARY REQUIREMENTS/ALLERGIES🖤
It is important that you inform us of any allergies that may affect any consumer of our products so we can gain an understanding of the severity and cater to our guest’s safety.
Having advised you in relation to allergen risk we must stress that although every care and effort is taken in the preparation of our products that we can NOT guarantee that our products will be completely trace free of allergens that are stored and used within our premises.
By ordering with us you consent that you take full responsibility for declaring any allergies and intolerances and accept responsibility for making consumers aware who may be affected by any allergen ingredients.

All products MAY contain Wheat flour, Barley and rye (cereals containing gluten), Eggs, Milk, Peanuts, Nuts (walnuts, ground almonds and, hazelnuts, tree nuts confectionery), Soya (milk and margarine), Sesame seeds, Sulphur dioxide and sulphates, (dried fruit preservatives).
🖤NON-EDIBLE ITEMS🖤
Most cakes contain small proportions of inedible items, it is the clients responsibility to ensure these are removed by your caterer/guests before consumption e.g. support dowels in tiered cakes, ribbon, wires in sugar flowers.
🖤COLLECTIONS🖤
Once the cake has been collected we will not be held liable for any damage to the cake once it has left our premises. Tiered cakes are most at risk during transport, so please seek our advice on how to transport it.
🖤WEDDING CAKE SET UP🖤
It is the clients’ responsibility to ensure arrangements are made for the cake table, linen, cake, stand & knife, which should all be set- up prior to our arrival, (unless there is an agreement that we will liaise with the venue on your behalf).
If any delay is incurred due to these not being set-up, we reserve the right to charge for any delay incurred (labour costs at £11.44 per hour, plus any compensation required to pay to other brides whose wedding cake delivery has been delayed as a result) or leave the cake with the event manager to assemble / move into position as appropriate.
Please take extra care to ensure a stable cake
table if you are having a marquee wedding, as surrounding floor boards can easily rock the cake once stood on.
🖤DAMAGE🖤
Please remember that cake decorations are very delicate items, and we cannot accept responsibility for damage that is done to the cake after it has left our possession.
If any damage is rendered to the cake after it has left our possession, then you can advise us and request a repair, which will be costed accordingly, including transport costs if we are able to repair it.
🖤BEST BEFORE🖤
Your items are baked to ensure they are super fresh for the date of your event. Please see guidelines below for storage and BBE guidelines.
🖤BROWNIES🖤
Brownies last fresh for 3-4 days when stored correctly-(cling filmed or in an airtight container) - can be frozen for up to 3 months.
Can be microwaved - when handling warm use, a cake slice holder or spatula as very gooey.
🖤CAKES/CUPCAKES/COOKIES/CRACKNELLS🖤
These also last fresh for 3-4 days when stored correctly- (cling filmed or in an airtight container)
Keep cakes with fruit in/on sealed and refrigerate.
In hot weather please refrigerate your cakes, buttercream and sunshine aren’t the best of friends!
🖤AFTERNOON TEA🖤
Afternoon tea boxes last 24-48 hours when stored correctly -(cling filmed and refrigerated) - refrigerate to keep fresh, eat within 24 hours for best quality, keep clotted cream and jam refrigerated and follow instructions on packet for storage/care once opened.
(Please be aware that fruit during the winter months and high heat has a shorter shelf life strawberries etc tend to last 1-2 days)
🖤COMPLAINTS🖤
If you have concerns about your cake, please notify us upon collection/inspection so that we have the opportunity to rectify it in time for your event. Evidence of the fault should be included via picture or physical sample.
If a complaint is raised to us after 24 of the cake being recieved we shall not be held responsible or be in a position to offer a refund for your order.
A refund is only given if the uneaten cakes are returned, and are unsuitable for consumption / not as described in the written quote. No refunds are given due to change of mind or dislike of design.
